Streamate Launches Offline Calls But Models Arent Convinced
The essential:
  • Streamate has introduced an offline call feature allowing fans to contact models without a livestream.
  • Models report missed notifications, technical bugs, and unclear setup.
  • Early reactions are cautious, with many comparing it unfavorably to SexPanther.

Streamate has quietly rolled out a new offline call feature. It lets users place one on one video or voice calls to models even when they are not live. On paper, it sounds like a smart next step for camming. In reality, models are feeling cautious, and in some cases, pretty frustrated.

Not a new feature but a welcome one

Offline calls are not new in the adult industry. SexPanther is built entirely around on demand calls and messages, giving fans access to creators without a public livestream. LiveJasmin has also played with private call style interactions outside regular shows.

Streamate’s take seems to pull a bit from both. Models can toggle availability and receive direct calls without going live. More ways to make money without sticking to a cam schedule.

The issue is that it's not been working great so far.

“Nice idea, but it barely works”

Across Reddit, models say the feature feels half baked. Some stayed available for hours, even days, without getting a single alert. Later, they logged in and found missed call attempts sitting quietly in their inbox.

Others did get calls, but ran into missing notifications, calls that didn’t ring properly, or audio issues that made it easy to miss paid time unless they were glued to their screen.

Here are some comments from models on Reddit:

I turned it on and had three calls in less than half an hour, but I had to turn it off because I wasn’t alone at the time and didn’t know calls would go directly to my phone

I stayed enabled 24h and still didn’t receive any calls… I never got a notification until I logged in and saw attempts in my messages.

The SexPanther comparison, and why it matters

A lot of models immediately compared this to SexPanther. The concept is similar, but the setup is very different. On SexPanther, calls are the main event. Fans know exactly how it works and what they’re paying for.

On Streamate, models are not convinced customers even realize offline calls exist, let alone how to use them.

“It feels like SexPanther, but I don’t think clients actually know how to call us.”

Why many models are uneasy

The complaints go beyond technical bugs. Models are also worried about:

  • Lack of clear documentation from Streamate
  • Unreliable notifications, especially on mobile
  • Blurred boundaries, since calls can come in when models aren’t prepared or alone

Some performers switched the feature off completely after getting unexpected calls at bad moments.

Too early to write it off, but not a great start

Offline calls could turn into a useful income stream, especially for models who want to make money during downtime and stick with one platform. Right now though, the early response suggests Streamate needs clearer communication, better client education, and much more reliable tech in order to compete with the likes of SexPanther.

For now, most models seem to be watching from a distance. Curious, yes. Convinced, not yet.
